Caribbean Certified

The hot weather brought out the masses at the two day festival known simply as 'Caribbean Days' located at Waterfront Park in North Vancouver. The festival began with a parade on Saturday with people of all ages and costumes stretching all over Lower Lonsdale. The parade included fantastic music and dancing of all ages! The Community Cruiser Team handed water bottles and other items to thirsty observers watching on the side. After the parade finally cleared Esplanade Street the crowd moved over to Waterfront Park where there was live music, local merchants, and Carribean-style food. The Cruiser Team rushed back to Waterfront on Sunday for the second day of Caribbean Days which was equally as enjoyable as Saturday.

Northshore Auto Mall Brings Sun to Kits!

This weekend the Community Cruiser Team ventured over to The Corona Open which was held at Kitsilano Beach this year. With the temperature outside around 30 degrees Celsius and the water around 20 degrees Celsius there was no shortage of people wanting water bottles.

On Sunday the Cruiser Team headed back out across the bridge to Folkfest at Jericho Beach. The festival was in full swing and there was enormous groups of people all over the grounds checking out exhibitors, live bands, and everything else taking place.

To end this weekend the Cruiser Team attended The Weekly Concert Series at Lonsdale Quay and a Mercedes Benz Car Show taking place at Waterfront Park. What is better than live music and a field full of perfectly shined up Mercedes Benzes?

F I E S T A !!!! Italian Style

This weekend the Community Cruiser Team was all about the beautiful North Shore. We ventured off to Ambleside to check up on how people were managing the seawall in the scorching sun, and how the kids were cooling off at the Mahon Water Park. Turns out some needed water, while at the Water Park they were in excess of water and turned to the beach balls, frisbees and tattoos.

The Community Cruiser Team saved the best for last and finished off the weekend at Festa Italiana at Mahon Park. The park was packed full of people who were Italian and people who wanted to be Italian. There were half a dozen exotic cars including Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maseratis! There was dancing all around and everyone, including the Mayor of North Vancouver, seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Warm Weather and Kayaks Mix Well

The weekend of July 4th was an interesting one where the Community Cruiser team hit a home run at Zuehlke field where the North Vancouver Baseball tournament was held. The water park close by was great for promoting Family Day. All the kids were excited to receive our new beach balls while their parents were excited to receive water and Family Day information.

Sunday's weather was much warmer but strangely less sunny! The Community Cruiser Team paddled out to the picnickers, cardio exercisers and paddlers at the MEC Paddlefest at Jericho Beach. The water was littered with vessels of all shapes and sizes which was truly a sight to be seen! The Cruiser Team took off the top and headed back to the North Shore where a Corvette show was taking place at Waterfront Park. The show featured Corvettes ranging in years from present day back to vettes from the 50's!

Happy Birthday to... Canada!

Canada is now a whopping 142 years old and North Vancouver really knows how to throw a great birthday party! The Cruiser Team began at the North Vancouver Canada Day Parade which started at Grand Boulevard Park at 14th and stretched along 13th and up Lonsdale then across to Mahon Park. There were 95 participating organizations and the streets were completely covered with people. Needless to say the parade participants were exhausted and so were we. We then continued down to Waterfront Park where the Canada Day festivities were already in full swing. The new addition of the beachballs were a huge hit with the younger demographic. We left the large crowd and continued towards West Vancouver stopping at Ambleside Park to finish the day.
